While We Wait
It's been a long, long, journey for Tucker, for our family, and you have walked with us. In the past 48 hours Tucker's condition significantly worsened, requiring Childrens Home Health to come assist with compassionate care. Tucker is resting peacefully in his own home, in his own bed, surrounded by love. He appears to be comfortable and at ease. His body has put up an amazing fight, but has finally surrendered.
This is truly surreal. Less than a week ago, this moment seemed so far away, but now, it seems he is just breaths away from his Maker.
This picture was taken just last weekend, before Tucker became ill.
Words simply aren't adequate to describe the pain of losing a child, losing Tucker. Nor can words describe the peace that comes in knowing that his ultimate healing is at hand.

My heart absolutely breaks for you Candy, Monty, Anna, & Ethan. But some small part of me rejoices in the fact that Tucker will be completely healed in our Christ Jesus! I am so sorry that he didn't receive the miracle that we were all so desperately hoping for, and I wish that I had gotten a chance to know you all before all of this happened. You amaze and inspire me with your grace, faith, & positive attitude. You have encouraged me to take each day for what it is rather than dwelling on the past. I absolutely cannot imagine what you are going through & have been through...We will continue to pray for Tucker & for your family. I pray that you will feel peace and comfort from our Mighty Loving God.

My name is Carole Doty, and I am Alicia VanderWall's mother. I just read her latest blog concerning precious Tucker. I type with tears in my eyes as I can only imagine the pain and sorrow you are feeling. Please know that you and your wonderful family are in my thoughts and prayers. Please take comfort in knowing that God does have a plan and a purpose for sweet Tucker, and perhaps that purpose has been fulfilled in this world and Tucker will spend all of Eternity with our Heavenly Father. Words cannot express our Love for you all. Our hearts are aching as parents for the pain you must feel. However, Thankful for the peace God has given you, knowing Tucker will soon be fully healed. Your father emailed me a while back. He had heard about our daughter through Tom Collins. I just want to tell you that I am praying for you tonight. Tucker is precious. I have only started reading about your journey after seeing it posted on someone's facebook. I know all too well the pain of losing a child. I understand the conflicting feelings that you mentioned- overwhelming sorrow, but also the peace that assures you that all will be well. Our son, Nolan, passed away in August due to complications from HLHS, mainly arrhythmias and pulmonary hypertension. I live every day missing him. I know that what you feel is yours alone, but I might understand a little bit about your pain. Maybe we can lean on each other. May God bless you and your family during this very difficult time.
